- Africa is known to be the second-largest and second most-populous continent in the world, and it is just after Asia in this category. This continent covers abour 6% of the whole world's land mass. And it has about 14% of the total population of the world. There are quite a few water bodies that surround Africa, i.e. Mediterranean Sea in the Northern side, the Suez Canal and the Red Sea in the Northern East area, the Indian Ocean in the SouthEast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
- The Eastern part of Africa is regarded as the scientific community for the Origin of humans which was about 7 million years ago. The continent has about 46 countries and if all the near islands are included, it would be 53 countries in the continent. "Afri" is a name given to people who dwelt in Northern Africa region.
- The Northern areas of Africa mostly contain deserted regions but the Central and southern parts have Savanna planes and grasslands and also rain forests. Africa is also a house for large number of Carnivores like lions, hyenas, and cheetahs and also for Herbivores.
- In the 20th century, there were many fossils of Humans discovered, which were believed to be about 7 million years old.
- African Union is a federation, which consists of all its countries only excepting Morocco, which doesn't come under this federation. Addis Ababa was the place which was considered as its headquarters in the year 2001. Later in 2004 Pan-African Parliament was relocated in Midrand which is in South Africa.
- But the earlier African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights remained in Addis Ababa. The powers and authority of the President of the African Parliament derive from the Union Act, and the Protocol of the Pan African Parliament, as well as the inheritance of presidential authority stipulated by African treaties and by international treaties.
- Estimations say that Africa has people talking over thousand languages, four of which are most common - Afro-Asiatic, Nilo-Saharan, Niger-Congo and Khoisan. African culture is characterised by a vastly diverse patchwork of social values, ranging from extreme patriarchy to extreme matriarchy, sometimes in tribes existing side by side.
